Wednesday, October 5, 2022: Today, the Jane Fonda Climate PAC announced endorsements for four candidates in their Pennsylvania November elections.

The Jane Fonda Climate PAC is proud to endorse the following candidates who are committed to advancing Pennsylvania to a just transition away from fossil fuels: Mark Pinsley for State Senate, Katie Muth for State Senate, Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz for Pennsylvania House, and Cathy Spahr for Pennsylvania House. The PAC has already endorsed Summer Lee for US House.

“We often discuss how important our freedoms and liberties are in the US,” said Mark Pinsley, candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate, 16th District. “What freedom is more important than the freedom to breathe safe air? What liberty is more important than the liberty to drink clean water? Air and water should be refreshing, not sickening, despite the wishes of the fossil fuel industry. It is up to lawmakers to realize that and I’m grateful that the Jane Fonda Climate PAC is supporting my campaign to ensure our ideal becomes a reality.”

“I’m incredibly honored to receive the endorsement from a trailblazer like Jane Fonda,” said Senator Katie Muth, candidate for Pennsylvania State Senate, 44th District. “We both have a history of telling it like it is and fighting for what we believe in. And we both understand that the fight for our planet is the most consequential fight of our lifetime. Thank you to Jane PAC for your advocacy and support for climate champions in every level of government.”

“For way too long communities of color have been alienated from the climate change conversation and continue to have limited to no access to the necessary resources,” said Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz, candidate for Pennsylvania House District 129. “As your next State Representative, I will ensure that Everyone has a Voice in these conversations.”

“I am tired of elected officials kowtowing to the fossil fuel industry and special interests,” stated Cathy Spahr, candidate for Pennsylvania House District 160. “It’s time we have leaders in office who will stand up to the fossil fuel industry and be champions for renewable energy and ensure that our children have a planet to live on.”

“Pennsylvania’s history as a fossil fuel source has greatly harmed our country and the health of Pennsylvanians, especially children,” Ms. Fonda stated. “These Pennsylvanian leaders have shown that they are ready to fight corporate polluters and transition Pennsylvania to a clean future.”

The Jane Fonda Climate PAC is laser-focused on defeating politicians who support fossil fuel companies and electing climate champions at all levels of government.  The PAC leverages the donations of those who are climate concerned to counter the outsized influence the fossil fuel industry has on our government.
