Strengthening Our Communities

Success starts locally! As a state House Representative for District 129, Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz will prioritize the foundations of community success. Every child deserves equal access to high standards of education, opportunities, and resources in order to succeed and thrive regardless of their zip code. Johanny would also prioritize property tax reform for the elderly. In addition, she will work towards increasing the minimum wage so that individuals and families can have an opportunity to have a better quality of life.

Voting Rights

Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz strongly believes that voting is one of the most basic and fundamental rights Americans have. She will protect the right to vote for all Pennsylvanians by educating them on the various ways that they can exercise their right to vote while increasing civic engagement within their communities– one neighbor, one block, one city, one county at a time. Protecting the right to vote by mail would be one of her first priorities. As we know it, the right to vote and voting by mail has been under attack time and time again for voters in PA and throughout our nation. She will work to ensure those attacks no longer happen, and that something as crucial as voting by mail becomes an easier and more accessible process for every voter in PA.

Clean Environment

As a State Representative, Johanny will have the opportunity to ensure these vital rights are protected and guaranteed for all Pennsylvanians. She will work tirelessly to protect the rights of the people and the environment, including providing educational community forums/seminars where individuals and community members learn how they can protect and preserve their environment, with an emphasis on clean air and clean water. As a state House Representative, Johanny Cepeda-Freytiz would also advocate providing funding and/or incentive-based opportunities to companies that will change how they operate their business to make it more conducive to protecting their community’s environment.

Gun Safety Legislation

Gun violence is a terrible epidemic plaguing our nation’s communities, especially amongst our youth. Guns should not be accessible to children, and elected officials need to pass gun reform legislation that protects our children, our schools, and our neighborhoods. Background checks are essential to ensuring that the prospective gun owner will be a responsible gun owner. Councilwoman Cepeda-Freytiz supports gun legislation that will keep illegal guns off of the streets and guns out of the hands of children and youth. She will do everything in her capacity as a State Representative to propose and pass legislation that provides effective and strategic gun reform within my district as well as in Pennsylvania. Gun violence must end.
